Sudan Geoportal is one of the (tour de force or Fruit) of the strategic partnership between the National Information Center, the Sudan Survey Authority and the Central Bureau of Statistics and with the generous contribution of UNICEF Sudan to enrich the digital content of spatial information on the Internet so as to support planning and decision-making.

To keep abreast of the digital transformation witnessed by the country by providing the latest spatial information with the highest accuracy and reliability of its utmost importance in the proper performance of the state and its institutions, economy and citizens and to enable the development of the information society and entrepreneurship.

Sudan spatial portal is a participatory electronic platform for interactive and dynamic geospatial information viewing thatenabling users to access, edit, use the associated services and analyze them online.
♻ The portal provides easy-to-use digital maps through Web Map Services (WMS) and Web Feature Service(WFS) that are conform to the standards of the World Wide Open Geographical Indications (OGC) and are also standard protocols used to disseminate spatial information on the Internet.
♻ The portal contains two main sections. The first is the general part which does not requires the user to know the GIS and its techniques. It is intended to introduce the Sudan and its various components and promote its wealth through digital maps of the national level, then the states and maps dedicated to promoting the tourism industry. From viewing and browsing spatial data, query and search.
♻ The second part is the Sudan Geospatial Data Center (SGDC), which is a central access point for individuals, researchers and institutions to get the latest accurate information from their reliable sources. It is the basis of the Sudan Spatial Data Infrastructure (SSDI), which is based on the concept of sharing and exchanging data and information, dedicated to institutions, individuals, researchers and all stakeholders in the field of GIS and remote sensing. The application allows users to create their own accounts, enabling them to upload, edit and manipulate spatial information and then upload or share with others. In several formats with access rights, as well as the ability to create maps directly through the application.
